AGNES AGWANG: E/N,DN, DM, DHT, BNS, MNS(C),  PGD - HELM -Senior Lecturer and Dean School of Nursing and Midwifery– Clarke International University


Agwang is a Nurse with an accumulated wealth of 16 and a half years of working experience in Nursing Education, Clinical and Community Practice, Maternal and Child health including Adolescent health, Palliative care, and Nursing Research. She has served Clarke International University (CIU) as a Lecturer since completion of a Bachelor of Nursing Science from Uganda Christian University (UCU) in 2011 and is currently completing her Master of Nursing Science thesis from UCU. She was appointed Acting Dean, School of Nursing in November 2015 and was confirmed as a substantive Dean in August 2016.


Agwang is involved in teaching and further coordinates teaching & learning, community and research of all the faculty in the School of Nursing which are programmed to run every academic year. Her areas of specialty include Clinical Nursing Skills, Reproductive Health, and Child health.

Research Interests 

As a long-term career goal, Agwang seeks to understand the complexity of nursing research issues impacting vulnerable individuals and communities. The key recommendations derived from these studies will help inform the health systems, to enhance the development/streamlining of appropriate policies to strengthen health services delivery in the country. Her thematic areas for research include; Nursing Education, Maternal and Child Health, Adolescent Health, Non-Communicable Diseases, End of life care and Nursing Informatics, Innovation and e-learning.
