Tutapona's Certificate in Trauma & Adversity Intervention is aimed at equipping and up skilling current and emerging professionals to help them to support people who have experienced trauma and adversity. The course addresses the connections between stress and trauma, childhood trauma and development, grief and loss, suicidality, and poverty, while equipping the learner with mindfulness and relaxation techniques, foundational counselling skills, & self care to prevent/address secondary trauma.

12 Weeks
The course is completely online, consisting of audio lectures and e-readings.

Joy Puckett is a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) currently working as a clinical therapist within a medical facility in Ohio, USA. She earned a Master’s degree in Social Work from Asbury University in Wilmore, KY. Joy has almost 10 years of clinical experience working within residential settings, community-based mental health, and the nonprofit sector. In 2019 & 2020, Joy had the privilege of supporting Tutapona Uganda in various capacities such as clinical staff training, programmatic consultation, and staff care. She specializes in trauma-focused interventions and is committed to helping individuals and clinical professionals grow in the knowledge/field of mental health
