My name is Nakawala Mirembe Flavia, a third year student of Medical Laboratory Sciences (BMLS) at Clarke International University. I am currently serving as the representative for BMLS on the Students’ Guild, a Minister of State for Information, a treasurer for the Divine Mercy Catholic Community and a volunteer with Uganda Sickle Cell Rescue Foundation.

In December 2017, a friend shared a link with me that was calling for applications for Study of the United States Institutes (SUSI) on Women’s Leadership. The program was looking out for young women leaders between 18 and 25 years of age who were already serving in positions of leadership at their institutions. Given the leadership opportunities that CIU had availed me, I went ahead and submitted my application. It was a highly competitive process and I was among the lucky four ladies who were chosen from Uganda.

The Rotary Club of Clarke International University (CIU) has been in existence since 2013 and it has continued to make an impact on students’ lives and various communities. Although it is an institution based club, it subscribes to the larger Rotary organization which started with the vision of one man — Paul Harris.

My name is Ikram Yuusuf Hirsi an MP of Somalia, and I am a proud alumnus of Clarke International University (CIU). I joined CIU (formerly International Health Sciences University) in 2010 to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Public Health which I successfully completed in 2013.

My name is Daniel Odeke, doing Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Community Health, second year (DCM 11) Reg,no: 2017-DCM-FT-FEB-008.

Clarke International University has an exchange program with Vincent Pol University in Poland that I was considered and selected for by the Registrar. CIU is one of the best institutions I have attended so far. It’s very unique in the sense that their major concern is giving the very best to their students and bringing out the best in them.

On Tuesday 25th April 2017, the Rotaract club of International Health Sciences University celebrated its charter night. The club which was celebrating six years of serving the IHSU community also installed its new club President Asobola N Prudence. The event was well attended attracting over 50 Rotaract clubs and 5 Rotary clubs from all over Uganda.
